Style defies defination. To us it means looking beyond manuals and magazines, sometimes disregarding accepted tenets, adding a touch of irreverence. It is to bring to the space that element of the creative, that dash of whimsy, a certain flair, moving it out of the realm of the nondescript. It is to banish preconceived notions of what a space ought to look like, and instead endow it with elements of freshness and originality. We strive to make each guest's experience a unique one, something that goes beyond the ordinary comforts of bed and board. It is this effort on all fronts - from design to services - to go that extra mile, that makes a stay at our hotels something to remember. |

Bamboo Bay is a restaurant overlooking the beach, and in this special setting, coastal cuisine takes on a deliciously different flavour. A purple door hints at what could lie within. Outside, the hotel foyer presents the usual bustle of activity, little tableaus in time coalescing to form the larger picture. Guests and bags, bell boys and luggage trolleys. The lingering aroma of coffee and freshly baked bread. The purple door is unobtrusive, yet beckons, seductive, persuasive. Inside, the mood !S contemporary, the menu mainly Mediterranean yet international, criss crossing geographical boundaries. Latino Bar at The Park, New Delhi, is a vibrant expression of the colours and culture of the Mediterranean region. We have spared no effort to ensure that the cuisine and decor of Latino Bar are both authentic and the last word in stylish elegance. Jose Antonio Garcia, one of Spain's best known designers, was specially commissioned for the interiors. He has cleverly worked around the central motif, which is a modern interpretation of 'Las Meninas', originally painted by Diego Velazquez in 1656, and re-interpreted here by avant-garde artists Jose Miranda and Manolo Caceres. In an exciting explosion of colour, the ambience of the Bar transports guests right to |

the heart of an international setting. The atmosphere is perfect for an informal tete-a-tete, a special rendezvous, an exchange of business banter. Designed on two leveis, the lower portion of the Bar has striking black and white tiles reminiscent of Andatusian patios, and on the upper level, rich fabrics lend a touch of baroque opulence. The space is informal, elegant with a touch of whimsy and is the ideal setting for a warm, lively experience. Chef Anuj Kapoor wields his own magic in the kitchen to bring alive a meiange of flavours that are mainly Mediterranean, but also encompassing Thai, Middle Eastern, Indian and Italian favourites. The concept of making a meal out of the Starters or Picks have evolved into something of a fine art. In Spanish cuisine, this is called Tapas, literally meaning small meals. Putting a Tapas platter together can be an exercise in culinary creativity and 'picking' from many sources is a delectable exercise. The wine list at the Latino Bar is a connoisseur's delight. The best international brands are on offer, and there is also an exhaustive selection of spirits that include single malts, liquers and cocktails. So whether you decide to stop at the Latino Bar for a quick tapas break, or spend a couple of leisurely hours over a glass of wine, a visit to this special restaurant ensures that you have your moment under the Mediterranean sun. |

A powerful theme. An exciting new concept in hotel design. A world famous design team. A vibrant, techno-savvy, happening city. The stage is set for the unveiling of the refurbished Park in Bangalore, which is a potent combination of all this. Helping to translate dreams into reality is not too hard a task for international designers Conran & Partners. For this particular project, infusing new life into an existing structure, they have drawn upon the natural bounty of the 'Garden City'. The 110-bedroom hotel is situated on the bustling MG Road in the heart of Bangalore and is ideally located to provide travellers with easy access to all the business and leisure facilities that the IT capital of India has to offer. |

The new hotel has been envisaged as an urban retreat and the designers aim to create an ambience that is both refreshing as well as contemporary, suited in every way to the demands of the miilenmum. Conran & Partners are the architectural and design practice of SirTerence Conran, one of the world's leading designers, restaurateurs and retailers. Their involvement with this project gives it a new dimension altogether, and imbues it with a sensibility that is at once unique and international. The simple white facade of the building, apparently innocuous, gives a hint of what lies within bv means of vividly coloured windows. Inside, the four floors are concieved as four different Indian landscapes - the sea, the mountains, the jungle and the desert. Co-ordinated colour schemes, innovatively designed accessories and furniture, all enhance and accentuate the main theme. Guests can visualise the changing hues of the landscape in these luxuries settings that fire the imagination. The grounds of the property have been landscaped to resemble the deck of a ship, and through out the hotel, the metaphors for different aspects of landscape merge to create a special idiom. From the lobby to the banquet halls, the coffee shop, the bar and the rooms, each space has been thoughtfully and creatively designed to evoke a kaleidoscope of images. The rooms explore the theme of an urban safari, where the decor is essentially neutral, offset by brilliantly coloured fabrics and smartly crafted accessories in brushed steel and glass. The use of leather and rich silks and the clean lines of the furniture impart an uncluttered and elegant simplicity. The design philosophy seeks to fuse the rich and vibrant heritage of India's traditional crafts while looking towards the future, abuzz with technological marvels and contemporary aesthetic trends that reflect the current mood of the city. |

The Character of each hotel is enhanced by works of art which are unique to the region as well as those that transcend boundaries. At The Park, Calcutta, for instance, terracotta murals and panels of kantha embroidery bring in a special flavour to an otherwise modern setting. In our hotels (read galleries) whose windows look out onto the world's stage, every traveller finds his own road. |
