Shore Shots. Those who docked at the Lighthouse Café at the Park Vizag from April 13 to April 22, 2001 got a real taste of Mexico as they sampled pepper poppers, Nachos Machos, fiery fajitas, and a tortillas laced with red hot chilli peppers at Salsabrate, the Mexican Food Festival. And as part of the festival, celebrity chefs Sergio Snyder and Roberto Treves held a special session for women where they demonstrated the fine art of Mexican cooking. Rumour has it, their anecdotes were just as saucy as their food. And that's before the tequila was served.

Operation green-up. Ask any of our employees and they'll tell you they take the sign 'Please Clean My Room' rather seriously. But on June 5th, they went a step further and created a new one. It read something like this, 'Please Clean My City'. And that's exactly what they did. On that day, which incidentally was Environment Day, the employees of The Park went on a cleaning spree of Jantar Mantar, to restore the charm and beauty of the historic Sun Dial. They also organized a pollution check camp where free checks were conducted on vehicles. And if that wasn't enough, in the evening, they teamed up with CRY (Child Relief and You) to organise a poster competition on the environment where fifty children from different NGO's participated and expressed their thoughts on the environment. The event was judged by renowned artist Arpana Caur, Admiral H Johnson (advisor to CRY), And Ms. Meeta Vyas , CEO WWF who also addressed the gathering.

 

the times they are a - changing Bob Dylan, Alanis Morisette, Jimmy Hendrix, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Sheryl Crow came to life at Someplace Else at The Park, Calcutta, as three member band Skinny Alley went down memory lane with all time favourites by the greats. Besides classic cover versions, Jayshree Singh, Amit Dutta and Gyan Singh, a.k.a. Skinny Alley, also played their original compositions which dealt with social issues.

miss Universe 2000, Lara Dutta checked out the world of The Park, Calcutta and she was just as impressed by our hospitality as the world is with her beauty and charm.

geoffrey Boycott was bowled over by The Park when he sampled some of our heady cocktails at The Latino Bar at The Park, New Delhi. Though Geoffrey himself wasn't available for comment, spectators claim, the only kind of mixing that went on that night was of the liquid kind.

never mix business with pleasure. The brother sister duo of Shaan and Saagarika proved otherwise as they took some time off work to enjoy a meal at The Beach front restaurant, Bamboo Bay, during their stay with us during their concert tour in Vizag. And in case you're wondering, no, we didn't make them sing for their supper.

all eyes were on Raima Sen, the doe-eyed Grand daughter of famous Actress Aparna Sen, when she visited The Park. Raima Sen, unlike other stars her age, has opted for roles of substance rather than the run-of-the-mill, run-around-tree roles. Explains why she opts for The Park as well.
