About Bangalore

Internationally famous for its booming IT industry and lovely city weather, India's Silicon Valley stands for a lot more - gardens and monuments, granite deposits and excellent schools and institutes, such as the Indian Institute of Science and Indian Institute of Management. India's fifth largest and fastest growing city, Bangalore is an industrial and a fashion hub. The city teems with over 6 million people and is bestowed with local parks, along with pink cassias, golden acacias, and jacarandas, which bloom throughout the city. Recently its even gaining the status of the "Floriculture Capital" due to its blossoming flower exports.

In South India it's probably a good idea to rendezvous in Bangalore before any other city. Places like Lalbagh Botanical Gardens, Vidhana Soudha, Cubbon Park and Museums, Bull Temple and Tipu Sultan's Palace are all worth visiting. Mysore, which is only about three hours away, is full of palatial monuments, sandalwood and incense. The famous Hoysala temples at Halebid, Belur and Somnathpur are also close by. The unique, fun-loving, coffee growing culture of Coorg is not far away either.
